Executive Director Cathy Palmer presented the tax levy determination to the board, noting that the figure represents a 1.76% increase compared to the previous year. Following the presentation, Vice President Kathy Lewandowski moved to approve the determination, seconded by Trustee Camille Gonzalez-Jensen.
The motion passed with a unanimous roll call vote, with President Joseph Cirelli, Vice President Lewandowski, Trustee Gonzalez-Jensen, and Trustee Erin Minh all voting in favor. Treasurer Alvin Kempf Jr. and Trustee Sara Carmody were absent from the meeting.
In other financial business, the board reviewed the check register for the month. Trustees voted unanimously to approve the payment of bills totaling $80,590.96. During the review of the register, Vice President Lewandowski inquired about the volume of damaged items listed. Director Palmer confirmed that there appears to be an increase in the amount of damaged materials being returned to the library.
