The position also assists with other maintenance activities and typically manages a snowplow route during the winter.
According to Peloquin, eight external candidates applied for the job. After a review of training, experience, and references, Hazek was determined to be the most qualified applicant.
The board approved the appointment in a 5-0 vote, with Trustee Melissa Fedora abstaining. After the vote, Mr. Hazek thanked the board for the opportunity. Several trustees personally welcomed him to the village and wished him luck in his new role.
