Wildflower Farm Permit Key Points:
-
The extension allows the farm to continue seeking final permits for rural events at 11332 W. Dralle Road near Monee.
-
The original special use permit was approved in March 2023, and the new extension pushes the deadline to March 11, 2026.
The Will County Board on Thursday, October 16, 2025, approved a second extension for a special use permit for The Wildflower Farm, LLC, giving the agritourism business in Green Garden Township another 180 days to finalize its plans for hosting rural events.
The farm, located at 11332 W. Dralle Road near Monee, is operated by Bengston Land Management, LLC. The owners were initially granted a special use permit in March 2023 to hold events like weddings and parties and to serve alcohol, building on their existing flower-picking and agritourism business.
According to a memo from Brian Radner, the county’s Development Services Director, the property owner has been actively working through the site development and building permit process since the original approval. The owner has already obtained a liquor license and initiated the permit process for ancillary liquor sales.
Will County zoning ordinances allow for up to four separate 180-day extensions for special use permits to give applicants time to meet all conditions for good cause. The farm’s first extension was set to expire on September 12, 2025. With the board’s approval of this second request, the permit is now valid until March 11, 2026. The Land Use & Development Committee had previously voted 6-0 to recommend the extension.
