MOKENA — The Mokena Community Public Library District Board of Trustees welcomed a new face and reshuffled its officers on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Kate Wojtulewicz was appointed as a trustee to fill a vacancy on the board. In a procedural move, the trustees voted to amend the evening’s agenda to perform Wojtulewicz’s swearing-in at the beginning of the meeting. Board President Joseph Cirelli administered the oath of office.
Later in the meeting, Wojtulewicz expressed her gratitude for the appointment. “It is an honor to be serving on the board and working with the library,” Wojtulewicz said. “I am excited to become an even bigger part of the community.”
The board also addressed the vacancy of the Board Secretary position, created by a recent resignation. Trustee Sara Carmody volunteered to assume the role. A motion to appoint Carmody was made by Trustee Camille Gonzalez-Jensen and approved unanimously by a roll call vote.
