Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Meeting | March 19, 2026

The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Board of Education met on Thursday, March 19, 2026, to advance several significant financial and infrastructure initiatives. The Board unanimously approved standard inflationary fee increases, setting the 2026-2027 base student registration fee to $330, parking permits to $160, and raising breakfast and lunch prices by $0.75 each. In preparation for upcoming facility overhauls, the Board awarded a $1.98 million contract to CDW/Greatline Solutions to upgrade aging network cabling, approved a $38,000 asbestos abatement contract with NES, Inc., and authorized Henry Brothers to begin non-HVAC summer site improvements.

Quad Plus Tax Abatement: The Board unanimously approved Resolution #2026-01, providing a partial real estate tax abatement for tax year 2025 to Quad Plus LLC. The resolution fulfills the final year of a 5-year, 50% tax abatement agreement originally approved in November 2019. The abatement was granted to encourage Quad Plus to build a 52,500-square-foot industrial and warehouse facility in the Cherry Hill Business Park in New Lenox. The abatement reduces the district’s share of the Quad Plus tax bill by an estimated $15,000 for the 2025 tax year.

Human Resources Update: Dr. Murphy presented a strategic plan update regarding human resources, highlighting the upcoming retirement of 13 teachers and administrators, who possess an average of 29 years of experience. Additionally, 10 support staff members are retiring, averaging 20 years of service. To prepare for the staffing turnover, the district has been actively recruiting at multiple job fairs, successfully securing candidates for Career and Technical Education (CTE), physical education, and foreign language positions.

Student and Teacher Recognition: The Board honored the Lincoln-Way East Varsity Competitive Cheer Team and Head Coach Jayson Polad for winning the IHSA 3A State Championship. This marks the team’s eighth state championship title. The Board also recognized Lincoln-Way East science teacher David Mulconrey, who received the Award of Excellence through the Those Who Excel Awards sponsored by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Inspector General Renewal: The Board unanimously approved the renewal of Sikich LLP as the district’s Independent Inspector General. Pursuant to Board Policy 2:261, Sikich monitors a fraud hotline and web complaint reporting portal to evaluate allegations of waste, fraud, or mismanagement. The firm’s services are billed at a rate of $300 per hour, plus a 4% technology and internal support fee.

Treasurer’s and Invoices Report: The Board unanimously approved the presentation of invoices from February 20, 2026, through March 19, 2026, for a total sum of $4,088,496.58. During the Treasurer’s Report for February 2026, it was noted that the district received $3.4 million in revenues and had $10.0 million in expenses for the month. The district’s total cash balance on February 28 stood at $61.8 million.
