Meeting Briefs: Will County Planning and Zoning Commission for July 15, 2025
Frankfort Shed Relocation Approved: A homeowner on West Harvest Drive in Frankfort Township received a variance to reduce an east side-yard setback from 10 to 4 feet. The variance, sought by owner Andrew Bischoff, will allow the relocation of an existing shed to make room for a future swimming pool. The property’s buildable area is significantly limited by a floodplain and a detention easement covering the rear half of the lot.
Manhattan Lot Variance Corrects Past Error: The commission approved a variance for a five-acre property on West Baker Road in Manhattan Township, bringing a non-conforming lot into compliance with the county’s 10-acre minimum for A-1 agricultural zoning. The parcel was created undersized in 2014, before the current owner, Thomas Smith, purchased it. The variance was needed to permit the construction of a new pole building.
