A forecast generated Sunday predicts a 100 percent chance of snow for Monday afternoon, Dec. 1, with less than one inch of accumulation expected. A second system is forecast for Tuesday night, Dec. 2, bringing an additional 1 to 3 inches of new snow.

Following these snow events, a severe cold front is expected to descend on the region. Thursday, Dec. 4, is forecast to be sunny but bitter cold, with a daytime high near only 13 degrees. The temperature is expected to plummet further on Friday night, Dec. 5, reaching a low of -4 degrees.
