Mokena Village Board Meeting | November 24, 2025

The Mokena Village Board met on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, to finalize several year-end financial and administrative matters. News Briefs:

Liquor Control Ordinance Updated:
The board approved Ordinance No. 2025-O-031 during the Nov. 24 session, amending the Mokena Village Code regarding liquor licenses. The amendment pertains to the classification and total number of liquor licenses authorized within the village. The measure allows the Village President and Clerk to execute the updated license counts immediately.

Regent Drive Parking Restrictions:
As part of the consent agenda, the board passed Ordinance No. 2025-O-032, amending parking regulations on Regent Drive. The update specifically modifies Title 6, Chapter 5, Section 12 of the Village Code to implement new parking restrictions. These changes are intended to address traffic flow and safety concerns in the residential area.

Village Administrator John Tomasoski congratulated local business owners Jon and Gina Osborne of Image360 during his Nov. 24 comments. The business recently received multiple honors from Alliance Franchise Brands, including the Operational Excellence Award, Circle of Excellence Award, Top Sales Volume Award, and Systemwide Sales Growth Award.

Parade of Lights and “Wonderful Life” Recap:
Mayor George J. Metanias and the board expressed appreciation for the successful “Parade of Lights” held recently in Downtown Mokena. This year’s theme, “It’s A Wonderful Life,” featured over 30 entries. The Mayor thanked the Public Works Department, the Chamber of Commerce, and local ESDA volunteers for coordinating the event and keeping the community safe during the festivities.

Leaf Branch Pickup Extended:
Village Administrator John Tomasoski announced that the Village has extended its free fall leaf and branch pickup service through Nov. 26. Residents were encouraged to consult the village website or contact public works to schedule their final collections before the winter season begins.
